Okanagan Rockets Staff

General Manager - Rob Evers

Rob comes to the Rockets after 5 years with the Valley West Hawks as a Head Coach and GM. His first year as GM of the OKR will also see him taking over the Okanagan Zone Lead - Operations & Player Development in which he is directly overseeing 11 teams in the Okanagan.

Rob brings 20 years of coaching experience with 14 years at the Bantam and Midget AAA level, 5 between University and Jr A in Alberta.

Rob also bring 5 years of scouting experience in the WHL and has been the lead evaluator for 2 yrs in the U16 Team BC Program of Excellence.

Head Coach - Simon Ferguson

Simon returns for his 3rd and 2nd consecutive season with the Okanagan Rockets He is excited to continue to help prepare and develop players for the next level.


He retired from a professional career that spanned 594 games with stops in the AHL, ECHL, and Europe. He was apart of the  Anaheim Ducks organization and in 2010 won the Calder Cup AHL with the Hershey Bears. He was also on the Memorial Cup Champion, Kelowna Rockets in 2004. He has played with and against many of today's NHL Stars.


Simon has been coaching top level youth hockey for over 6 years and is excited for the opportunity to learn, develop and Grow with the OKR this coming season.

Assistant Coach - Greg  Lynott

Greg comes to the Okanagan Rockets from Kelowna Minor  Hockey and is back for his second consecutive season.


As a player Greg played defence and logged over 450 games in the AHL, IHL, WHL and BCJHL.

Greg has spent 30 years as a coach with stops in the CSSHL BCHL and Kelowna /West Kelowna Minor hockey. The Okanagan Rockets are excited to have one of the most experienced coaches in the BCMML help mentor and guide its players with a special focus on their defensive Core

Video /Assistant Coach - Hugh Dunlop

Hugh joins the Rockets program after spending the past four years coaching at the prep school level. There, he handled the video needs for all eight teams at the Ontario Hockey Academy. Previously, he spent two years at  Pursuit of Excellence in Kelowna coaching their bantam & female teams.


Hugh has also assisted multiple Jr & Pro teams in their video duties, including helping the West Kelowna Warriors in 2016 when they won the RBC Cup National Championship.


Before he got into coaching, Hugh played his minor hockey in Calgary before sustaining a career-ending knee injury when he was 16. He is very excited to be joining the prestigious Okanagan Rockets program and is looking forward to what the team & players can accomplish this season.
