Rockets Split with T-Birds Take Season Series 3W-1L

The Okanagan Rockets faced off against their rivals from Abbotsford for the final time of the regular season. In the first meeting of the year the Rockets walked away with two victories by a matching score of 3-1. The series would bring lots hard hitting action controversial calls a few player and coach ejections,

Score :   4 -OKR - 5- FVT

Shots:  36 -OKR - 21- FVT


The Okanagan Rockets would come out of the games in the first game of the home and home controlling the play and putting 15 shots on net. Unfortunately it was the Thunderbirds who got the bounces and were able to pot three goals on 5 shots including a controversial goal that went off the foot of the FVT Player.


The Rockets would not take their foot of the gas pedal and would claw themselves back into the game.  Rilen Kovacevic would get the Rockets on the board in the second followed by two from Zac Funk in the third. Then with 11 seconds Steel Quiring would bring them within one. The Rockets would run out of time and Fraser Valley would walk away with game three of the season series.

Game 4 of the series would see the Rockets once again control the Tempo however it would be the rockets that would strike in the first period potting three goals. Porter Trevelyan, Colton Boyarski, and Cam Hicklin scored the goals for in the first for the Rockets. The Rockets would take their foot of the pedal in the second allowing the Thunderbirds two goals on 10 shots while the Rockets did not manage to get another on 7 shots. The third was all Rockets outshooting their opponent 15-7 and putting two past their netminder. The markers came from Zac Funk and Dylan Wightman. 



The Rockets now hold a 1 point lead with 2 games at Hand on the Hawks and will head into Victoria short handed December 7th and 8th. Teague Patton has been recalled by the Medicine Hat Tigers(WHL) while Jackson DeSouza and Steel Quiring have been called up to the Kelowna Rockets.( The OKR wish all three players the best!
