Rockets Drop Point in North Island

November 13, 2019

RECAP November 9,10.

Okanagan Rockets sailed on to Vancouver Island to take on the North Island Silvertips in their 15th winning (8-1) and tying the 16th  (3-3) game of the season.

Game 15 on Saturday the Rockets jumped on a bus at 6:30 am out of Kelowna to catch the 1pm ferry and were on the ice ready to play by 4:45pm in Nanaimo. The Rockets would take game one 8-1 with 8 different goal scorers getting in on the action including one MML first from Porter Trevelyan.

Game 16 started earlier than the Rockets players wanted it to start with a 8am Sunday Morning skating to a 3-3 Tie. It took two periods for the Rockets to turn the engines on and in the third period they outshot the Tips 26-2 but the Tips goaltender stood tall and would not allow the Rockets any more.  The Rockets would come back to save one point in the final 2 min of the game on a nice move and shot from Wightman.

The Rockets are now on their first bye week of the season and then get set for a home and home vs Okanagan rival Thompson Blazers on Nov 23 at Capital News Centre and in Kamloops November 24.
