On Saturday the tides swayed to the Rockets who took game one 4-1 and outshot their opponent 28-25. The Rockets got the jump on the Cougars when Patton broke through their Defence and made a nifty shot to beat the Cougars netminder. Funk, Wightman and Kovasevic (empty net) would round out the scoring for the Rockets while Hamming once against only allowed one against.
Sunday would go to the home team with a flipped score of 5-1 despite the Rockets outshooting the Cougars 47-27. In this one the Cougars would jump off to an early lead off a missed High Stick call that sailed into the net. The luck would continue in the Cougars favour with a blocked shot that bounced off two players before finding its way behind Rockets goalie Monteith. Special Teams ended up being the difference in the end with the Cougars scoring 3 goals on the Powerplay and the Rockets scoring 1. Wightman would get the loan goal for the Rockets.
