The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced Friday that they have signed Okanagan Rockets forward Rayman Bassi to a Standard WHL Player Agreement. Bassi played six games with the Okanagan Rockets in 2015-16 before making a huge impact on the team last season, registering 16 goals and 33 assists in 40 games.
"I could not be more grateful to sign with Regina" commented Bassi. "I am excited for what the future holds for me, as this is a huge step for me in reaching my ultimate goal of playing professional hockey."
Bassi's coach from last season, Eric Blais, was quick to give Bassi high praise on his signing:
"Ray has worked extremely hard from the start of last season and throughout the year" says Blais. "He was one of our most improved players from beginning to end and all the credit goes to Ray and his approach to improve. We are very happy for him and his family and the Regina Pats organization."
Bassi becomes the third Okanagan Rocket from the 2016-17 to have committed to a junior team since the season ended, along with Wyatt Head and Seth Barton. The talented forward also made note of his time with the Rockets:
"The Okanagan Rockets really helped me develop as a complete hockey player, and I could not be any happier with the organization.
The Okanagan Rockets wish Bassi the best of luck moving forward.
