Murray called up to WHL’s Hitmen for remainder of season

October 28, 2016

The Okanagan Rockets are congratulating defenceman Jameson Murray, who has been called up to join the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen for the remainder of the season.

The 17-year-old Murray joined the Rockets after playing last season with the Midget Tier 1 Rockets in the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association, where he helped lead the team to a silver medal at the provincials.

Through six games with the Rockets this season, Murray put up three assists and two penalty minutes.

He was invited to the Hitmen’s rookie camp in the summer, and will now be playing with former Rocket Lucas Cullen.

The Rockets would like to wish Jameson the very best as he moves forward in his hockey endeavours.

In a corresponding move, the Rockets are pleased to welcome defenceman Isaac Dutka, who will make his Rockets debut this weekend against the North Island Silvertips.

Dutka comes to the Rockets from the West Kelowna Minor Hockey Association’s Midget Tier 2 squad.
