The Okanagan Rockets are pleased to congratulate forward Eli Zummack, who was named to Hockey Canada’s roster for the upcoming U-17 World Hockey Challenge in Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario from October 27-November 5.
Zummack is among 66 players who will be split up into Team Canada’s Red, White, and Black squads as they play teams from Finland, Sweden, Russia, the Czech Republic, and the United States over the 10 days.
The selections were made following a week-long development camp that featured 111 players back in July.
The team is made up primarily of players from Major Junior and Junior A rosters, making Zummack the first ever player to represent the BCMML at the tournament.
Through six games this season, Zummack has put up five goals and 10 assists, which is good for second in league scoring.
The captain of the Rockets was drafted in the second round, 36th overall, by the Red Deer Rebels in the 2015 Bantam Draft.
Midway through last season, he was traded to the Spokane Chiefs, whom he spent training camp with this year.
