Hora Commits To Silverbacks For 2016/17 Season

January 8, 2016

The Okanagan Rockets are proud to announce that defensemen Spencer Hora has committed to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the 2016/17 season!

Hora, 16, is having a terrific rookie season with the Rockets, posting a goal and 7 assists for 8 points and 42 penalty minutes in 18 games played so far this season. He’s been a horse for the Rockets on the backend, playing big power play and penalty kill minutes along with a physical edge that makes him a menace to play against. The Kelowna native has played in three games with the Silverbacks so far in BCHL action this year as an AP.

"We're very excited to see Spencer being recognized for his efforts this year”, commented Rockets GM Braeden Pistawka, “Spencer has all been a player who earns every inch through his impeccable work ethic and compete. We feel he will be going into a good situation with a quality junior program in Salmon Arm.”

Hora is enjoying an excellent KIMMT so far, earning one goal in three games and playing with a tough, physical edge. The Rockets want to congratulate Spencer on the great achievement!

The Rockets have Friday off at KIMMT but will return to the ice with a big matchup on Saturday against the Moose Jaw Generals in their final round robin game. Puck drop is set for 9:00 AM at the Rutland Arena-West.
