Okanagan Rockets Head Off To Camps

August 26, 2015

As September approaches our newly committed Rockets are heading out all across Western Canada to showcase their skills and attempt to crack rosters of both Major Junior and Junior A clubs.

Three forwards in Zach Erhardt, Chase Stevenson and Myles Mattila, are only a stone's throw away participating in the  Penticton Vees' main camp. All three will be playing in an exhibition game tonight (August 26th, 7:00pm) at Royal Lepage Place in West Kelowna as they will take on the host West Kelowna Warriors. Facing off against them will be Rockets forwards Ethan Trampuh and Jordan Todd, who will be suiting up for West Kelowna

Forward Matt Kowalski and defensemen Shawn Guison have travelled a little bit further as they try to crack another BCHL team's roster with the Nanaimo Clippers.

The Rockets also have a strong continent at the Salmon Arm Silverbacks'  main camp this week.  Forward Alec Zawatsky, defensemen Spencer Hora and Sam De Melo, and goaltender Cole Demers are attending camp, exhibition games start tonight in Salmon Arm as they take on the visiting Langley Rivermen.

The Rockets' roster boasts three WHL drafted 15 year olds in Powell Connor (Saskatoon), Eli Zummack (Red Deer) and Coleton Bilodeau (Moose Jaw).

Elsewhere in the WHL, forwards Hayden Dick (Kamloops) and Lucas Cullen (Calgary), defensemen Danny Gatenby (Kelowna) and goaltender Liam Hughes (Edmonton) will all be attending their respective camps

We would like to wish all of our committed players and alumni the best of luck in the upcoming weeks.
