April 7, 2015

Rhine and Whistle were a pair of key contributors to the Rockets 2014-2015 season.

Whistle, a 17 year old forward led the Rockets in points with 48 while playing in all 40 games for the Rockets.  Whistle finished his season with 18 goals and 30 assists.  He added a pair of goals in two playoff games as the Rockets were swept in the opening round by the Greater Vancouver Canadians in early March.

"We are very proud of both Carter and Brandon for having the opportunity to continue their playing careers." said Rockets general manager David Michaud. "Both players were such a big part of our rebuild this season, and they delivered as much as I expected.  They are headed to a great program in Bonnyville,"

Whistle and Rhine will join a pair of Rockets alumni in Bonnyville as both Gen Bryshun and Cory Santoro suited up for the Pontiacs this season.

The Rockets continue to be a premiere developer of talent for junior hockey.  Since 2010, nearly 70% of all Rockets have moved to play either Junior A, or Major Junior.

The Rockets will be hosting a Spring ID Camp for the 2015-2016 season at the Capital News Centre from May 8th-10th.  Up to 12 commitments will be made out of the camp. Register at www.okanaganrockets.com today.
