Demers Sensational as Rockets Salvage Tie with Hawks

November 9, 2014

Cole Demers was sensational on Sunday as the Okanagan Rockets needed him to stand tall before rallying in the 3rd period for a 3-3 tie with the Valley West Hawks on Sunday afternoon at the Capital News Centre.

The 15 year net minder made no less than a dozen high quality, point blank saves to provide the Rockets the spark, and chance they need to pull even with the Hawks mid-way through the 3rd period.

Demers made 30 saves in all for the Rockets including 15 in the first period as the Hawks opened fire on the young goaltender.

Scoring for the Rockets on Sunday were Carter Rhine (3rd), Marcus Mitchell (13th), and Brett Witala (6th).

The tie pushes the Rockets record to 9-4-1 as they remain in 3rd spot in the overall standings.

The Rockets will hit the road for 3 straight opening with a pair next weekend in Abbotsford as they take on the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
