Typically, the Okanagan Rockets had been money in the bank when holding a lead after 2 periods of play Today, wasn't a typical day.
The Valley West Hawks scored 3 goals in the 3rd period, and held on a frantic push from the Rockets for a 4-3 win at the Capital News Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Rockets got goals from Connor Bowey (4th), Brett Witala (5th), and Sam Binfet (7th) in the losing effort.
Jordan Reynolds fell to 6-2-0 on the year with a 19 save performance.
Discipline was a huge factor for the Rockets on Saturday afternoon as they provided the Hawks with 8 power play and the Hawks struck for a pair with the man-advantage.
"We have always prided ourselves on being a disciplined club, but the past few weeks we have really got away from that. I don't know many hockey clubs that can hand out that many power play chances and get away with it. We need to get back to solid hockey and do things the right way to get out of this little funk" said Rockets general manager David Michaud.
The Rockets drop to 9-4-0 on the season while the Hawks improved to 7-5-1 with the victory.
The two clubs will wrap up their weekend tomorrow morning at 10:00.
