Mitchell Dominates as Rockets Open New Season with a Win

The Okanagan Rockets raised the curtains on their 2014-2015 season with a 5-3 win over the Vancouver NE Chiefs at the Capital News Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Rockets, down 1-0 after 20 minutes were sparked with a 5 goal second period to take control of the game.

Marcus Mitchell, a list player of the Kelowna Rockets, made a tremendous first impression with 4 goals and an assist in the victory.

The other marker on the day came from Calgary Hitmen draft pick Lucas Cullen.

The Rockets got a steady dose of tremendous goaltending from Jordan Reynolds who was calm and collected in making 35 saves for his 1st BCMML win.

The Rockets were 1-3 on the power play, and 4 for 6 on the penalty kill.

The Rockets and Chiefs will square off again tomorrow morning at 10:00 am.
