The Okanagan Rockets are proud to announce the commitment of 1996 born defenceman Gen Bryshun to the AJHL's Okotoks Oilers.
Bryshun just completed his 3rd and final season with the Rockets where he notched 13 points and 86 penalty minutes in 34 games.
In his 101 game BCMML career, Bryshun posted 5 goals and added 33 assists for 38 points. Bryshun also tallied 170 penalty minutes.
Bryshun helped for the Okanagan Rockets shut down duo alongside Josh Johnston during their run through the playoffs to the Telus Cup.
"If the game was on the line, Gen Bryshun was on the ice." said Rockets general manager David Michaud. "Having the chance to work with Gen for the past 3 seasons, I can say first hand that Okotoks is getting one heck of player, but they are also getting a tremendous person."
James Pool, head coach of the Oilers said that the Oilers have had their eye on Bryshun for some time. "We had a chance to watch Gen at both the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary and the Pacific Regional finals in Red Deer. We like what we saw and after doing our home work, we knew we were getting a young man with lots of character. We are excited to welcome Bryshun to our organization."
Registration is now open for the Rockets Evaluation Camp from August 7th-10th at the Capital News Centre. Players can register from the BCMML website at www.bcmml.net.
