Sometimes things just don't go your way. The Rockets pumped 54 shots the Cougars Nathan Warren while giving up just 22 to the Cougars. The end result, an 8-4 beating by the Cougars of course.

The Rockets dropped their 4th straight game on the road and are now 0-3-0 to start a crucial 7 game road trip.

Perhaps more importantly on the weekend, the Cougars have pulled 6 points ahead of the Rockets for 2nd place with the weekend sweep.

Brett Mennear scored a pair of goals for the Rockets, while Graham Millar and Gen Bryshun added singles.

For the 2nd time this season the Cougars chased Rockets starting goaltender Brenden Mills after he gave up 3 goals on 5 shots to open the game. Replacement Reid Kilburn didn't fare much better as he allowed 5 goals on 17 shots in relief.

The Rockets lost for the first time this season when scoring at least 4 goals in a game. They are now 19-1-3 in such cases. For the Rockets whose season was rolling along just a few weeks ago with a club record 15 game unbeaten streak, fortunes have certainly turned. The Rockets have just 1 win in their last 6 games. (1-4-1)

The Rockets now prepare to head to Victoria as their road trip continues next weekend.
