The Okanagan Rockets used a 5 goal 1st period en route to an 8-0 win over the South Island Royals.

The Rockets blew the game wide open early as five different Rockets scored in the opening frame. A day after hanging with the Rockets, the Royals were never in this one.

Captain Branden Wagner scored a pair of goals on the day giving him 22 on the season. McEachern (3rd), Mennear (21), Gran (9th), Procter (9th), Finlay (8th), and Santoro (11th) all scored singles for the Rockets.

Brenden Mills made his 2nd straight start of the weekend and turned aside all 24 shots he faced Sunday for his 2nd shutout of the weekend. All told Mills stopped 44 of 45 shots on the weekend.

The win improves the Rockets record to 23-6-5 on the season. The 23 wins is now 2nd most in club history behind the 2006-2007 team that posted 27 wins. The Rockets have 6 games remaining

The Rockets will now prepare to close out their 7 game road trip next weekend in Richmond against the Greater Vancouver Canadians.
