Kilburn Backstops Rockets to Shutout Win

The Okanagan Rockets earned a big 3-0 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Thursday at Father David Bauer Arena. The win was crucial for the Rockets as they head into another must win game on Friday against the Saskatoon Contacts.

Another slow start for the Rockets had the two clubs scoreless after 20 minutes.

The Rockets finally broke through at the 6:14 mark of the 2nd period as Gen Bryshun picked up the puck behind his own goal and wheeled all the way down ice into the Lethbridge zone before wristing it over Jonny Hogue.

Liam Finlay and Cory Santoro added goals in the 3rd period for the Rockets.

Goalie Reid Kilburn was tremendous in goal earning Easton game star honors for the Rockets. Kilburn stopped all 24 shots he faced on the afternoon for the shutout.

The Rockets will now face the 0-0-1 Saskatoon Contacts who have today off. The UFA Bisons (0-0-1) and the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes (1-0-0) play Thursday afternoon in other Pool 5 action.
