In a potential 1st round playoff match-up the Greater Vancouver Canadians proved they could make like very difficult for the Rockets in the post-season.
The Canadians scored a 5-1 win over the Rockets at the Richmond Oval on Saturday night.
The Canadians led 1-0 after 1 and 3-1 after 2 periods before putting the game away in the 3rd period with an early power play goal and an empty netter.
Spencer Hewson scored his 13th goal of the season in the loss for the Rockets who went just 1-7 on the power play while the Canadians went 2-3 with the man advantage.
Brenden Mills suffered the loss in goal, his 5th of the season while making 24 saves. The shots favoured the Rockets 38-28.
The Rockets record falls to 23-7-5 on the season and remain in 3rd place.
The two clubs will wrap up their season series tomorrow morning at 10:00.
